The contra dance in Santa Cruz on Sunday, March 16 ( pictures! ), marked the first time in recent history that we had to post a "full" sign at the door! The music by The Figments and Moving Violations was just amazing! Nils Fredland, the dance caller, led us through a dizzying repertoire of fun and magical dance sets. A big shout out of thanks to BACDS and the Spring Weeked crew for bringing these wonderfully talented people into our corner of the world!

The contra dance in Felton on Friday, March 7, was a huge success, with 94 dancers signed in! There was also a reporter / photographer from the local weekly newspaper Metro Santa Cruz taking pictures and conducting interviews. Look for pictures of yourself in the April 16 edition.

Thanks to everyone for being diligent about caring for the floor!
The Santa Cruz event on February 17 at the Vet's Hall with Erik Hoffman, Janet Dows, Katherine Gardner, Paul Rangell and special guest Bettina Mueller-Tuescher was awesome! (click for pics)

On February 2 the Felton Community Hall management gave us a final warning that if we do not leave the floor in essentially the same condition in which we find it they will terminate our contract. Please share this information with anyone that you see who may be either dusting the floor before the dance to make it more slippery or who are wearing street shoes with dirt and grit in them. It was something of this nature that damaged the floor during the February 1 event. The estimate for repair was $300. Also notify any Board members present, the sound technician and/or the dance caller. Thanks!!!
The Felton event on February 1st with Charlie Fenton and Sorcerer's Apprentice was a huge success with great music and a full house (click for pictures)
